Theresa A. Mari
Theresa Mari started her career as General Counsel for a multi-million dollar corporation and, later as General Counsel for a public company which she co-founded in Holbrook , New York. Her true passion is in the areas of Family and Matrimonial Law and an advocate for litigants and children for nearly 30 years.
Ms. Mari served as the President of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association and the Huntington Lawyer’s Club. In addition to holding these offices, Ms. Mari served as a Director of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Associate Dean of the Suffolk Academy of Law and a member of many of the prestigious committees of the Suffolk Bar including her present membership on the Charitable Foundation.
Other charitable organization memberships include membership in Soroptomist International, the Kiwanis Club, the Spina Bifida Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy Foundations and Hospice of St. Charles Hospital.
Ms. Mari has also been the recipient of many awards including three Pro Bono Foundation Award as an Attorney for Children, a Director’s Award from the Suffolk County Bar Association, the President’s Task Force Award and various Committee Leadership awards.
Sara B. Carissimi
Sara Carissimi began her legal journey with Theresa A. Mari as a civil practice extern in her last year of law school. Ms. Carissimi received her BA with honors from Hofstra University. Mr. Carissimi obtained her Juris Doctorate from Tuoro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 214 and was admitted to practice in the Appellate Division, Second Department in 2015.
Ms. Carissimi has been exclusively practicing family and matrimonial law for her entire legal career. Ms. Carissimi has successfully represented clients in Family Court, Supreme Court and the Appellate Division, Second Department.
Ms. Carissimi has been an active member of the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association for over 6 years, serving on their Board of Directors for the last four years. She is also an active member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and serves on the Joint Matrimonial and Family Law and Family Court Committee.
